PALO ALTO — November 2, 2026. Palo Alto’s official events program lists a Mental Health First Aid training session on Saturday, November 14, 2026, intended for adults aged 18 and older.

The two-part format

The training includes a two-hour self-paced online component and a four-hour in-person component scheduled November 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The city says the online portion must be finished at least one week before attending the in-person session.

What participants can learn

The curriculum addresses recognizing possible mental-health and substance-use challenges, responding supportively when someone is distressed, identifying resources and practicing self-care. This is community awareness training, not permission to diagnose or treat people.

Check enrollment and course status

Interested participants should consult the city event page for eligibility, registration and certification requirements. Anyone facing an immediate mental-health or safety emergency needs qualified professional assistance rather than waiting for a workshop.
